Dr Alexander Iosad is an expert on public-service and government reform in the age of AI, advising political leaders around the world on how they can harness artificial intelligence and other technologies to improve public services. He was most recently director of government innovation policy at the Tony Blair Institute, worked in venture capital and consulting previously, and holds a DPhil in history from the University of Oxford.

Dr Alexander Iosad is an expert on public-service and government reform in the age of AI, advising political leaders around the world on how they can harness artificial intelligence and other technologies to improve public services and deliver for their citizens. He has deep expertise in education policy and technology and a track record of collaboration with ministers in Africa and Europe, sector bodies, development banks, and international agencies.
Most recently, Alexander was director of government innovation policy at the Tony Blair Institute. His reports include Governing in the Age of AI: A New Model to Transform the State, Public Service Reform in the Age of AI, and Time for a World Education Service: Focused, Free and For All. He has written for Google DeepMind’s AI Policy Perspectives, The House, The Standard, Schools Week, Times Higher Education, and Wonkhe, has given oral evidence to the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee, and has appeared regularly on national television and radio.
Prior to TBI, Alexander worked in venture capital as well as public sector and innovation consulting. He holds a DPhil in history from the University of Oxford, where he studied how novel state-sponsored institutions create the cultural conditions for wider acceptance of science and progress.
